Care Crickets
could certainly be called one of the greatest fish baits of all
time as they are readily accepted by Catfish, Trout, Bream and more.
In the pet industry, crickets are the live food of choice for many
reptiles, amphibians, birds, etc. Our crickets are available in
8 sizes and are available in quantities of 250's, 500's and 1000's.
Please refer to the chart below when ordering but keep in mind that
crickets are a living, growing insect and may not always be as exact
as the chart. Your success with crickets will reflect the care you have given them. Crickets are a clean insect and must be kept clean and dry. At least once a week scrape or sweep your box clean, regardless of the number of crickets in the box, you will find it simple to clean around them. One water fountain is suggested for every 2,000 crickets. For large crickets a plastic ring should be used in the water fountain and for young crickets, a sponge ring. Remember to thoroughly clean your water fountain as well. A box that smells is usually caused by a nasty water fountain. Our crickets are raised on a special made dry cricket feed and you will have best results keeping them alive by continuing with our feed or a similar dry diet. Eggflats from your shipping box should be stood upright against the walls of your box for additional crawl space. Temperatures for crickets half grown or larger should be kept between 70 and 79 degrees. Remember, the higher the heat, the faster your crickets will age. However, for smaller crickets, temperatures must be maintained between 85 and 90 degrees. Also, never expose your crickets to direct sunlight, ants or poisonous fumes as they will surely kill them. IMPORTANT NOTE: During the winter months, you may receive a shipment of crickets that appears to be dead. Before passing judgment, you should put the crickets in an 80 degree area making sure air gets to them and give them approximately 6 hours to come out of dormancy. 90% of the time your crickets will come back around.
